Who It’s For

Carriers setting driver and dispatch expectations.

How to Use It

Fill in the company choices before adoption, explain the policy to drivers and dispatchers, and retain an acknowledgment. This U.S. template addresses ordinary property-carrier situations. Review unusual movements before treating them as off duty.

What’s Included

  • Company authorization and limits
  • Allowed-use and prohibited-use examples
  • Driver acknowledgment

Personal conveyance is personal-use movement while the driver is relieved of work and responsibility for work. A loaded vehicle can qualify when the movement does not serve the carrier’s business. The driver must remain fit to drive and have enough time for required rest.

Company limits are additional restrictions, not federal safe harbors. Being under a mileage or time cap does not make a business movement personal conveyance.
